I think that I am finialy getting use to having internet at home. I have been living at Rookhaven since, what august, and I am just now getting settled in enough to feel like I am here.
I supose that the fast of Ramadan has had something to do with my lack of checkin in, too. the fast is going well right about now. There were some realy hard days in the first couple of weeks. Epecialy in the first week. I hope that I never go though days that difficult again. This year, I decided not to break the fast for traveling like I did last year. What I learned last year, when I stopped the fast because I was traveling is that I had to experience the first few days all over again. Those few days are the most difficult days because the body (and ego) body has to get use to the experience all over again. So, while it is permissible to hold the fast if one travels more than 50 miles in one day, the trade is not worth it.
So this year, I have not halted the fast. I have also decided to use the daily Qu'ran readings. As of yesterday that means that I have read 20 parts of 30 parts of the book. This has been very interesting. I have now read more of the Qu'ran than I have read any other holy book, from any of the traditions I have practiced. In a general sence, I am very under-read when it comes to the writen teachings. I am more experiential and inspirational than book read. So, ya it is very interesting to read so much of a single holy book. I can tell that it is having an effect on my thinking, though, to what degree, I am not sure. Only time will tell.
